Package 3 – “Keep me up to date”

Your headshot must look like the person who walks through the door.  A new hair style or colour, new or removed braces, or simply “growing-up” will mean that your headshot you had shot a few months ago no longer matches the look you have today.   I want your headshots to work as hard as you do to get you work.  This means they must be current.  To help you keep your headshots current, this package provides you with a discounted rate for any session booked within a certain time from your last shoot.  The shorter that time frame, the cheaper the shoot.  Think of it as a helping hand to make sure your headshot is always up to date.  If you always book your next session within 12 months of the last one you never have to pay full price again!

Within 6 months                -         get 40% off the cost of your next package.

Between 6 to 12 months     -       get 20% off the cost of your next package.

Note: Time frames strictly enforced for this package.

Additional Images.          Add extra retouched photos to your packages.

Single retouched image      $55

3 Retouched images           $120

5 retouched images             $175

Note:  All prices include GST

Appointment times

All sessions are strictly by appointment only at either my Belrose studio or on loactionPlease ensure that you respect your appointment time and make every effort to arrive within 5-10 minutes of the start time.

Whilst every effort will be made to meet urgent deadlines, it is advisable to plan ahead and ensure your headshots are always up to date to avoid the disappointment of missed opportunities.   Session times may not be available the same week that you call, and same day turnaround of images (if available) will attract an additional fee of $95.

What to Wear?

Your headshot session allows for several changes of clothes.  It is best to bring a selection of outfits to help you create a variety of different looks.  It is better to bring more clothes than we will end up using in case certain items of clothing are not suitable.   When choosing your clothing, ask yourself the following questions:  What sorts of roles am I interested in.  What is my target age range?  What do I feel most natural wearing?   Generally, it is best to wear plain, dark clothes.   A plain black t-shirt or top is strongly recommended, as is a mix of casual and more formal outfits.

Avoid:   Whites, (unless under a jacket or shirt) pastel/weak coloured tops or patterns / logos.   Remember your clothing should leave the emphasis on your face.

Make-Up & Hair

The most important thing to remember is that you should be yourself in the photos...the Casting Directors expect the person in the photo to walk through the door. Only minimal make-up should be worn for a headshot photo session.   A light face powder to reduce imperfections and reduce face shine from oils in the skin is all that is required.  Any temporary imperfections such as pimples etc will be removed in post production.  You will be asked to remove any heavy or excessive make-up prior to the photo session.   Hair should be a neat everyday look.   Please avoid any stray or ‘fly-away’ hairs.  Hair and make-up should be done prior to your arrival at the studio, however there will be the opportunity to touch these up during the session, so please ensure you bring your make-up and hair products with you.    (That goes for the guys too!)

  What happens during the shoot?

The session will start with a quick chat about you.  What sort of roles are you looking for, what age ranges do you want to play, what sort of headshot experience have you had?  I will then talk you through what we are going to do in the session so that you are comfortable with the plan for the day.  We will also go through the outfits you have brought with you to pick out the best choices for your shoot.  You will also have the chance before we start to check your hair and make-up to make sure it is still ready to go. (Please note that these should be done prior to arrival so that only small checks / touch-ups are needed.  Time spent doing these in the studio will eat into your photography time)

My studio has indoor and outdoor facilities. (Weather permitting for outdoor use)  You will get a mix of both in your shoot.  You will be my only client for your timeslot.  You will have my undivided attention, as I would hope to have yours.

Please note that any person under the age of 18 must have a parent or other suitable person present for the duration of the photoshoot.

What happens after the photo shoot?

After your photo shoot the best images will be sent to you and/or your agent via a download link so that you can choose your final headshot pictures. These initial proof files have not been retouched in any way. It is highly recommended that once you receive your headshot files to make sure to back them up in at least two ways. (On separate computers, external drives or disks)  Portable USB sticks are NOT recommended for sole backup as they are prone to failure over time.

 * What does “Reproduction Rights” mean in your package list?

Whilst I hold the copyright to all images I take, 'Reproduction Rights' enables you to reprint your headshot for use by you.  There is no limit to the number of times you can print you headshot.   You don’t have to come back to me to have them done.   Reproduction Rights do not include the commercial use of the image. (i.e. in any advertisement etc)  If someone approaches you and says they would like to use your headshot for an advertisement or other commercial purpose, then that use must be negotiated with me.

Can I put my photos on Facebook or Instagram?

Absolutely!  The only condition is that I ask for a photo-credit under the photo.  This protects both you and I from someone deciding to steal your image from Facebook and use it for their own commercial purpose.  A simple ©Matt Jewell Photography 2019  (enter the year your photos were taken)  will help with that protection.  For those using a PC, you can make the ‘©’ symbol by holding down the ‘ALT’ key and typing 0169.
